AHRI Holds Successful Public Policy Symposium

More than 50 representatives from AHRI member companies attended the 2009 AHRI Public Policy Symposium, held March 18-19 in Washington, D.C. On the first day of the symposium, attendees heard from numerous experts who addressed the impact of the economic stimulus bill and impending climate change legislation on the HVACR industry.

The evening reception at the Hay-Adams Hotel was keynoted by former Nebraska Sen. Chuck Hagel who encouraged AHRI members to develop ongoing relationships with their representatives in the House and Senate.  A breakfast briefing on Capitol Hill, held the following morning, drew five U.S. Representatives, including Russ Carnahan (D-MO), Ron Kind (D-WI), Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), Melissa Bean (D-IL) and Robert Latta (R-OH). These speakers provided members with a firsthand glimpse of the legislative session and how it might affect our industry.
