Alex Buell
Alexander (Alex) Buell is director, Utility Thermal Energy Networks at Con Edison, where he leads the development of $100MM+ in clean energy projects to decarbonize buildings using geothermal boreholes and waste heat. Alex has also led strategy, planning, finance, and engagement for the utility's portfolio of energy efficiency and heat pump programs. His leadership has helped these programs triple in impact to provide almost $400 million in annual support to Con Edison customers to decarbonize their buildings.
Alex has spent his career in strategy, finance, and new business development in the clean energy transition. Roles prior to Con Edison include clean technology private equity investing at Good Energies, and strategy consulting McKinsey and Company. He is a member of the board of the Northeast Energy Efficiency Partnership. Alex holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Yale University and a Master of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Pennsylvania.
