Lisa Dix
Lisa Dix develops bold solutions for just and equitable climate transitions, bringing projects from vision to reality. With more than three decades of experience, Lisa is a key leader in many of New York State’s energy transformation projects. Since joining the Building Decarbonization Coalition as New York Director in 2021, she has built a powerful, durable, and diverse table of stakeholders united in achieving the equitable and affordable decarbonization of New York’s built environment. Lisa’s leadership and her policy acumen have led to several national successes, including: tax credits for geo-thermal systems; the launch of UpgradeNY, a labor-led collaboration; and passage of the Advanced Codes and Standards Act, the All Electric Buildings Act, and the nation’s first-ever Utility Thermal Energy Network and Jobs Act (UTENJA).
Prior to joining BDC, Lisa directed the Sierra Club’s groundbreaking Beyond Coal campaign in New York, where her leadership was instrumental in ending the use of coal-fired power plants and securing transition plans with dedicated funding for coal communities and workers. In addition, Lisa was a founding member of the New York Offshore Wind Alliance, which built the offshore wind industry and movement in New York, while boasting the boldest labor standards in the nation. This body of work later became a national model for federal policy and states across the eastern seaboard.
Lisa currently serves on the Advisory Board for Cornell University’s Climate Jobs Institute. A sought-after speaker and thought leader, Lisa has been recognized by City and State for several years in a row as one of the top 100 Environmental and Energy Power Players in the Empire State.
