Guideline Scope
This document establishes guidelines for installing roof-mounted outdoor air-conditioner equipment and sets forth good construction practices covering curb and roof penetrations and sealings. This guideline is a joint publication with the Sheet Metal and Air-Conditioning Contractors' National Association, Inc. (SMACNA).
AHRI Guideline B-1997 has been withdrawn because the information is outside the scope of AHRI. The information is readily available from other sources including manufacturers’ installation instructions. The information is not referenced in any international codes or standards.
